Welcome to Locking Parish Council

Located in North Somerset, England, the civil parish of Locking boasts a unique blend of growth and tradition. While experiencing significant and rapid development, it retains a strong sense of community and a vibrant village atmosphere. This is evident in the four distinct areas that make up Locking: Locking Village, Oaktree Park, Flowerdown Park, Locking Grove, and Locking Parklands.

Despite its growth, the majority of Locking’s residents live within walking or cycling distance to schools, churches, local shops, a café, a pub, community halls, parks and even a mobile library.

A wide variety of voluntary organizations and groups play a crucial role in providing fellowship, support, and a sense of belonging. Locking Parish Hall, The Radio Wing, and St Augustine’s Church Hall serve as bustling hubs for meetings and activities, attracting a diverse range of organizations.

From the well-supported local churches to the vibrant history society, the senior club, children's groups, and the thriving allotments, Locking boasts a rich tapestry of spiritual, social, and community organisations.

The parish also benefits from a small amount of light industry, this blend of industry and agriculture contributes to Locking’s pleasant character, while the distinct personalities of each of its four areas add further layers of charm and diversity.

Locking serves as an example of how a dynamic community can embrace growth while preserving its core values. It successfully balances modern development with a strong sense of community, creating a vibrant and welcoming space for all.

This site has been developed to give the residents access to their Parish Council.
